Have any of you tried putting red plastic around your tomato plants to increase their yield? I found this study, from 1998, and I'm curious if any of our customers have tried it.

In Store Soil Testing
We can now test your soil in our store. We test for pH levels, Nitrate, Phosphorus and Potassium. The test is $5.00.
Directions for taking your sample: Remove the top 2" of soil. Break up the soil underneath and take a sample from a depth of 8" for garden and landscape plants, and 3" for lawns. Take 2-5 samples from different spots and mix them together in a ziplock bag. Write your name, phone number and what you are growing on the bag. Drop it off at the Wilmington Island store and we will call you with the results.

Putting any mulch around a tomato plant will help it produce more fruit, and the color red will help it to produce even more yummy fruits. We use it religiously for tomatoes and have found a noticeable increase in yields.
